Worn at:Katsucon '04, Otakon '04
Character: A Viera White Mage from Final Fantasy Tactics Advance.
Construction: A lot of this costume was made without a pattern. The top part I altered a pattern that was similar, and a pattern was used for part of the pants.
I used a non-bleached muslin to give it that textured look. The staff I made using a branch from our yard. I made the top portion using styrofoam and newspaper and then covering it in Bondo. Brian's dad helped with that, cause of the fumes, lol.
Notes: I was really happy with this costume, though not the makeup. Next time I wear this, I'm skipping the makeup, lol. Also, the wig would NOT stay in place, even with a wig cap. I think the ears were interfering with that though.
There are so many details to this, it's a shame I don't have enough pictures from different angles to show them. I poured over the drawing for a long time though to get it right.
I actually really liked the red trianlges, it was pretty mindless work sewing them on, so my mind could wander, hehe. Oh, and my staff. I *love* my staff, it was light-weight and jingled when I walked ^_^
I wore this again to Otakon, on Friday. I did not, however, wear that awful brown makeup. I felt much better without it, and it didn't seem to make *that* much of a difference.
